The Founder
John Springer is an American artist who lives in Aix-en-Provence, France. He grew up in Georgia and North Carolina and graduated from The University of the South: Sewanee in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources. Nature coupled with art has been a driving force throughout his life. From 2012 to 2021, John lived mostly in Jackson Hole, Wyoming working in outdoor education with the National Outdoor Leadership School as well developing his career as a self-employed artist. In 2021, John moved to Aix-en-Provence, France to pursue a Master of Fine Arts Degree at The American College of the Mediterranean with an emphasis on oil painting, European art history and art criticism. Since he attained his MFA degree in 2023, he has remained in France working as an artist, painting mostly out in the landscape. In 2023 he created Society of Irregulars, an American-based LLC which specializes in art dealing, art education, and environmental advocacy. Currently, John spends his time between France and America where he arranges art exhibitions, conducts workshops in painting and drawing as well as leading immersive experiences in museums and nature.
